DavidCunningham.jpgDavid Cunningham is vice president, Human Resources, for Harris Broadcast Communications.

Based in Denver, Colorado, Cunningham has overall responsibility for Harris Broadcast Communications Human Resources initiatives, including talent management and workforce planning, benefits and compensation, global inclusion and diversity. He also sits on the Harris Human Resources Executive Steering Committee.

Cunningham first joined Harris as an HR generalist after graduating in 1988. He moved to American Express in the early 1990s to manage the organization’s training and development program, which supported their facilities in Los Angeles and Chicago.

In 1996, Cunningham returned to Harris to help with the integration of the Micro Computer Systems acquisition, and moved to Greensboro, N.C., to manage the Human Resources and talent development functions for the Harris Network Communications Division. Since then, he has held increasingly senior roles within the organization, gaining experience in the telecom, microwave, government and broadcast industries.

In 2006, Cunningham moved to the Broadcast Communications Division to spearhead Human Resources initiatives following the acquisition of Leitch Technology. Since his promotion to vice president, Human Resources, in 2007, Cunningham has led the globalization of the HR function across the more than 20 countries in which Harris Broadcast operates, and has been instrumental in building a best-in-class organization aligned to optimize the division’s growth and efficiencies. He has also played a key role in the integration of numerous acquisitions into the Harris Broadcast fold.

Cunningham holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and counseling from California State University in Northridge, California.
