On August 2, 2005 Harris Broadcast Communications Division announced the appointment of software industry veteran Les Wyatt as vice president and general manager of its Software Systems business unit. Wyatt, who is based in Denver, brings more than 28 years of management experience in leading technology companies to Harris' growing broadcast, enterprise and government customer base. He oversees the global operations of the Harris Software Systems business, with product lines in advertising, automation, broadband, digital asset management and media management, and drives Harris' mission to provide open, integrated, enterprise-wide workflow systems for any operation that creates, manages, and distributes rich media.
"Throughout his career, Les has proven himself to be an exceptional leader with a great sense of vision. He is a perfect fit for Harris," said Jeremy Wensinger, president of Harris' Broadcast Communications Division. "With the acquisition of Encoda Systems and Les' extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, I am confident that he will maximize the Harris-Encoda portfolio to position Harris as a preeminent supplier of total content delivery solutions for an expanding customer base."
Previously, Wyatt was the group vice president and general manager of EnterpriseOne at PeopleSoft, a business focused on the manufacturing industrial sector. Prior to his position at PeopleSoft, Wyatt held positions with J.D. Edwards, Harbinger, and Texas Instruments. Wyatt received a bachelor's degree and master's degree from Arizona State University.
