New Software Systems Dealer in Venezuela

Harris Software Systems has appointed AVCOM as the new Harris dealer for Venezuela. The company was formed in 1999 from the merging of Omnivideo del Color and CAAD Video Supply. AVCOM is a leader in supplying total end-to-end solutions for television broadcasters in Venezuela, and has just recently completed a key integration project that is a $1.0 million digital studio upgrade for RCTV in Venezuela.

Prior to the appointment of AVCOM, Venezuela used to be a market covered directly by Harris Software Systems CALA Sales Manager, Pablo Miliani who is a native of Venezuela. When aske about the shifting from a direct sales approach to a channel sales approach, Pablo said: "As Harris evolves from a stand alone solution provider in the broadcast software segment to a true end-to-end solution provider with multiple product offerings, it is crucial that we realign our sales channel strategy and partner with the best in the industry. I am pleased that not only AVCOM has agreed to sign up with Harris, they have already secured their first Harris Software Systems win, a new ADC2006 will soon be in control of PUMA TV."

Harris Software Systems is launching ADC2006, a full featured content delivery software package exclusively for Latin America. The new software package is targeted to small and midsize applications where sophisticated features of the ADC series software are a must have. Features include control for 24 devices, automation of three transmission lists, automatic recording of live events, and much more. Two of the first customers include Mexicanal in Mexico and Telecaribe in Colombia."
