Harris Corporation Unveils Next-Generation Broadcast Master Scheduling and Airtime Sales System at IBC2008

Provides Worldwide TV Stations with Unprecedented Ad Sales and Scheduling Support

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, September 11, 2008 (IBC2008, Stand 7.G20) — Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, will unveil and demonstrate the next generation of Broadcast Master™, a scalable sales and scheduling system designed for growing television operations at the 2008 International Broadcasting Convention (IBC). Offering significant feature enhancements and a more powerful toolset, Broadcast Master Version 8.20 provides unprecedented sales and scheduling support for small-to-mid-sized television stations in international markets.

Broadcast Master Version 8.20 delivers new features that enable broadcasters to have better ratings and demographics data on hand at every stage of the sales and traffic process. This allows spots and promos to be placed where they will be seen by the ideal, target audiences for that particular content. In addition, the system includes improved support — from scheduling to invoicing — for interactive, nonlinear content such as pop-up ads, as well as product placements within shows.

Version 8.20 also enables operators to specify the "placement basis" behind any spot placement. In the event of a schedule change, the spot can be rescheduled in a manner consistent with the advertiser's wishes — including automatic alerts if spots are moved outside of contract terms — thereby preventing any loss of revenue.

"Broadcast Master 8.20 offers better, more powerful tools supporting effective placement, tracking and management of advertising," said Richard Scott, vice president, Europe, the Middle East and Africa operations. "Harris is pleased to continue our commitment to customers across the industry by delivering products like Broadcast Master™ that serve varying sales models and markets around the world."

Broadcast Master™ is a cost-effective scheduling and media management solution for small to midsize broadcasters, which enables increased revenue through the sale of airtime while delivering benefits from enhanced scheduling features. The system handles the demands of multilingual, multicurrency and multichannel operations and is interoperable with other flagship Harris software products, such as ADC-1000™, D-Series™ and Invenio™ automation and asset management solutions, which together comprise a BXF-compliant broadcast workflow. While Broadcast Master™ has undergone several extensive upgrades since its introduction in 1992, Version 8.20 represents an unprecedented boost to this proven software's features and capabilities.

Harris Broadcast Communications provides products, systems, and services that deliver interoperable workflow solutions that span the entire media delivery chain. The Harris ONE™ solution brings together highly integrated and cost-effective products that are ideal for emerging media business models and for customers upgrading media operations to digital and high-definition services.
