AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, September 11, 2008 (IBC2008, Stand 7.G20) — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, announces that PowerTurk, the most popular music television channel in Turkey, has begun broadcasting live from its new playout facility in Istanbul using the Harris H-Class™ ADC-1000™ playout automation system and Harris NEXIO™ servers. This installation marks the first combined use of the ADC-1000 system and the NEXIO servers in Turkey.

"We needed to update an aging transmission system and decided to go with Harris for a couple of reasons," said Okan Çelen, technical manager at PowerTurk. "First of all, they offered a fully integrated workflow solution with best-in-class server and automation products. Second, they are an established broadcast supplier committed to long-term product development and ongoing support. These facts made us quite comfortable in placing out trust in Harris for this upgrade."

The ADC-1000 playout automation system was easily integrated into PowerTurk's facility and supports the existing workflow from ingest to playout. The NEXIO servers enable PowerTurk to play out multiple formats back-to-back on every channel and provide for a seamless transition to HD in the future. Bilgi Elektronik was responsible for the sale and will provide ongoing support for this installation.
