On January 29, 2008, the NAB Board, acting upon a recommendation from the NAB Digital Radio Committee, unanimously approved a resolution to seek FCC authorization for higher-power operation of FM HD Radio stations. This would provide a power increase of up to 10 dB in HD Radio sideband power for FM stations broadcasting in HD Radio.
