Audio Management Frame
Many smaller radio station facilities have found digital audio networking to be cost-prohibitive. Now, the affordable PR&E® VMConnect audio management frame makes powerful, flexible VistaMax™ digital studio networks an option for operations of all sizes. Based upon, and fully compatible with, VistaMax and VistaMax Envoy™ audio management frames, the VMConnect system delivers “no compromise” reliability and performance.
The VMConnect frame adds a new level of scalability to VistaMax networks. In addition to lowering the cost of entry for a new facility, it offers an additional means for adding distributed network connectivity to existing networks with VistaMax or VistaMax Envoy frames. The optical hub option extends the connection range to other VistaMax networked devices up to 2 km.
Larger installations with pre-existing centralized facilities or non-networked gear will still find that the classic VistaMax and VistaMax Envoy frames offer the best value.
Features
- Standard VMConnect supports up to four studios, expandable with optional frame cards to 12 studios. Base management of 192 bidirectional stereo audio and associated logic channels can be expanded to 320 or 448 channels
- Ideal for distributed networks with VMXpress and VMQuadra™ devices
- Expansion slots use the same hot-pluggable cards as VistaMax and VistaMax Envoy frames; users can increase capacity when needed
- On-board power supply with optional redundant supply
- VistaMax Control Center (VMCC) setup software included; this is the same software used for other VistaMax frames
- Silent, fanless operation, permitting mounting in studio
- One in a range of VistaMax network interfaces to establish low-cost distributed audio options for radio broadcasters
