The NEXIO® NXFSVA40 Fibre Channel switch supports large-scale, highly reliable 8 Gb/s Fibre Channel NEXIO Farad™ storage networks. With 40 active ports in a compact 1RU form factor, this switch supports 2, 4 and 8 Gb/s auto-detection for compatibility with existing NEXIO® clients that do not have 8 Gb/s Fibre Channel adapters.
The NXFSVA40 40-port Fibre Channel switch offers a high-density, high-availability networking solution for NEXIO Farad storage area network (SAN) systems.
The powerful, easy-to-use management features of the NXFSVA40 switch make it a valuable component of very large NEXIO Farad storage systems. The switch features 40 4- or 8-Gb/s Fibre Channel ports. It is ideal for facilities with high-bandwidth, high-redundancy requirements and high channel counts.
The NXFSVA40 switch supports NEXIO SANs running at 4- and 8-Gb/s per port. This flexibility allows older and new generations of the NEXIO server to use the same switches. NXFSVA40 switches are always installed in redundant pairs. With this configuration, the switch itself is not a single point of failure. However, for an extra level of security compared to the NEXIO NXFS8400 series switches, the NXFSVA40 switch includes redundant power supplies. This provides peace of mind for NEXIO Farad customers who require redundant power supplies in all on-air system components.
Note: The NXFSVA40 Fibre Channel switch supports the NEXIO Farad storage infrastructure, but it is not compatible with previous NEXIO storage systems such as the NEXIO NX3100/3000 products. NXFS1600 series Fibre Channel switches should be ordered for non-Farad storage networks.
