The Harris® Cool Play™ 1670 Mobile TV Transmitter with Convection Cool Technology™, is a new product designed specifically for Mobile TV. Convection Cool Technology provides a light weight, low operating cost, all-weather system that is ideal for challenging installation locations — it can safely operate in ambient temperature ranges from
-40° to 45° C.
This transmitter system provides reliable, cost effective, over the air broadcast of L-band network Mobile TV in the 1670-1675 MHz frequency range. The system is designed to receive a network signal (distributed via satellite), process the signal, extract the digital programming to be broadcast, modulate the digital data (using a COFDM DVB-H modulation scheme), apply error correction, up-convert to L-band, amplify the signal and then broadcast it to mobile receivers. The system includes GPS and satellite receiver antennas, satellite receiver (re-mux), modulator, controller/modulator, customer samples panel, amplifier, output filter and UPS.
